We first purchased coffee from the Dikitu Mill for our Strider blend in 2021, and for this year we chose some of their first lot of anaerobic naturals.
Dikitu is the name of the washing station where this coffee is processed, at high altitude in the Guji zone. As is the case across Ethiopia, smallholders (owning less than one hectare of land) deliver cherry to the mill, and are paid premiums depending on what grades they deliver.
We love coffee from the Hambela Wamena, and this anaerobic natural Guji shows layers of complex sweetness that we loved about Dikitu from our first purchase; lots of cooked berrry, elaborate texture, and lightly funky florals.
