Finca Himalaya has been in Sonia Castaneda’s family for 150 years, and it goes to show. In 2003, Himalaya placed 6th at the El Salvadorean COE, and their family has placed highly many times with Himalaya or for the family’s other farms.
The coffee grown on Himalaya is all Bourbon, shade grown and organically grown (if not certified), they have produced some of our favourite coffee for years! After significant Rust damage in 2018 – when crop yields were harmed significantly – Sonia returned to the market with this new, naturally processed coffee, which is more delicious than ever.
This 2023 lot has a very similar character to previous years; toffee & rich dark chocolate, accompanied by complex stonefruit, some juicy acidity, and a long floral aftertaste.
