An orchid Rhyncholaelia digbyana, the national flower of Honduras - Blanca Flor

    Blanca Flor

    Honduras

    black grape
    molasses
    raspberry coulis

Blanca Flor is a coalition of indigenous Lenca farmers in Intibucá, in the alpine mid-west of Honduras, and this lot comes from a group of members around the village of Pelon.

We were delighted by the freshening acidity as this coffee cools; layers of creamy nuts and molasses, a light fruit sweetness finishes cleanly with a raspberry acidity.

Blanca Flor is a coalition of indigenous Lenca farmers in Intibucá, in the alpine mid-west of Honduras. Their holdings vary in size, and stretch from San Juan to Masaguara. Each member’s shade-grown specialty coffee is collected and milled at a central cooperative beneficio.

This lot comes from a group of members around the village of Pelon. Special attention is given to environmental initiatives with under-grade coffee being recycled for use as a natural fertiliser, and a water-reduction program to minimise water use in wet-processing, with support from the coalition, training is provided for the local population to develop their cupping & quality control skills.
